London Affiliate Conference 2014 Preview
21st Aug, 2018
1. LAC gets bigger every year and has now taken over the previous space by the ICE conference at Earls Court. Just how big is this year's conference going to be compared to any other hosted by iGB?
We are very excited to have moved to a bigger venue for LAC, we have 32% more space compared to last year so the show really is going to be huge. As it stands we have completely sold out of stands but we do still have some sponsorship opportunities available. We are 50% ahead on delegate registrations so if we continue to see this trend then it really is going to be a very busy show, as it stands right now we have over well over 2,000 people registered and we see most registrations in the two weeks before the show. We have over 20 new affiliate programmes so there is plenty of reasons for people to come along, even established affiliates will be able to meet new operators. And for the first time we are introducing the marketing acquisition zone, which sees email service providers, marketing agencies, direct mail and other acquisition providers. This will offer new ideas to affiliates and operators alike in how to acquire and retain players.
2. What are some of the featured speakers that might be of interest for affiliates to see?
The busiest sessions at all of the events are our SEO panels and presentations. We are delighted to have the legendary Dave Naylor moderating the SEO track on Saturday, he will be joined by Scott Polk and Bastian Grimm amongst other. We also have sessions on real money skill gaming and the opportunities for affiliates right now in the US market, with Jim Dee of Game Show Network. Marcus Taylor of Venture Harbour will look at the importance of content and Nikesh Tailor, Marketing Manager at OLBG.com will look at how affiliates can use Social media monitoring to increase revenues. We also see Marcus Tandler back at LAC and we’ll have session on the latest from the US, how to become a brand as an affiliate and Bitcoin and what it really means for the industry.
3. Where are all the parties and do people need to register to get invited?
This year we have the Ministry of Sound for our opening party this is an iconic club and has a huge capacity, most excitingly is that our DJ’s on the night are all active affiliates in the industry, Hawkie from europeansoccerstatistics, Marina & Bar from Lordbingo.co.uk andbingobonus.co.uk and Michael Fancher from Vegasfever Affiliates. Friday night we have the glamour of the iGB Affiliate Awards which are now in their 7th year. This years theme is Circus and we have a great comedian, Tom Stade lined up to provide entertainment, plus lots of other tricks up our sleeves. We wrap up on Saturday night with a return visit to the London Hippodrome Casino where we have exclusive use of the mezzanine bars and of course people can go down to the gaming tables below. The awards are ticketed but all of the other parties are included as part of your registration just make sure you have your wristband to benefit from the free drinks. There are VIP tables available on both Thursday and Saturday so if anyone is interested then please get in touch. Oh and I can’t forget the Intertops Sunday Session, a final hurrah with some very relaxed networking drinks and lunch in a cosy traditional London pub just a few minutes from the official hotel, the Zetland Arms.
4. How do people get the LAC Networking tool and why should everyone use it?
Once you register for LAC you will automatically be set up for an account on the networking tool. This allows you to see who else is attending, set up meeting and plan your schedule in advance of the show. In essence it helps you to maximise your time. This is really key at a show like LAC as it is going to be very, very busy and it’s important to make the most of the time you have there.
5. For those that haven't attended a conference previously or are on the fence about this one, why should they go?
If you haven’t attended an event before you really must. There is nothing like an iGB Affiliate event, it’s a real coming together of the industry and gives you a chance to meet people face to face. You can negotiate better deals with existing operators, meet new one sand finally meet all those people you chat to in forums and have a real dink with them at the free bar from 3pm each day.
If you’re on the fence, don’t be LAC is always our biggest affiliate event and this year is going to surpass anything we’ve seen before. We have a huge exhibition, lots of new exhibitors, great speakers and conference sessions, free lunch, free drinks, free parties and lots of goodies to collect from the show floor. When people ask you about LAC2014 you don’t want to be the one saying ‘ohh I didn’t go!’ Don’t miss it. It’s going to be amazing.
